Treasured Time with Friends

Treasured time with friends
March 19, 2012

For his birthday in December, Aunt Cherine (my mother in law’s best friend) gave Graham four tickets to see “The Little Engine that Could” at the Manship Theater!  I was thrilled to be able to invite my best friend since elementary school, Dana, and her little boy William to be our guest for the day.  They live in Lafayette, and although it’s close, we rarely get one on one time with our two families.  We went to lunch with the boys then headed downtown for fun time and the show!  There was a train ride available to ticket holders and Victoria’s Toy Station was set up in the lobby for souvenirs!

I was very impressed by the programming by the Manship Theater and look forward to going again soon!  Baton Rouge moms – they have some great summer deals for matinee shows and playing in the water fountain after! Keep your ears open for details soon! Plus, the amazing park on North Blvd downtown is GREAT for little ones to run around in!

The boys had an absolute blast…I was thankful for the quality time with them together and for Dana and I to spend time together too!  Thank you for the treasured time Aunt Cherine!  We will remember it always!

(obviously you can see I still don't know how to rotate the photos on this blog...sorry for making you look sideways!)

Take Me Out to the Ball Game...

Take Me Out to the Ball Game…
March 1, 2012

Can you believe it’s already baseball season!?!  And with that comes MANY afternoon and evenings in Alex Box Stadium.  (As if we weren’t busy enough already!)  Graham and Ben took their annual walk to get Graham a new hat each season when we arrived Friday.  Graham insisted on wearing his backwards so his Mike the Tiger was in front like his dad’s hat!

Graham & Ben

couldn't get a good smile out of Graham bc of the candy!

Nene & Pops with Graham!

see the tigers in front? (note Graham saying "cheese" with a mouth full of chewy life savers!

Don't let these photos fool you.  We spend most of our time on the playground rather than watching the game…so if you are in Alex Box and want to find us, check out the left field playground or the left field bleachers closest to the playground.  Thankfully, our seats are conveniently located so that when Graham gets a little bit older, we’ll be able to watch the playground from our bleacher seats!

LSU Baseball has a Sunday tradition – children are allowed to run the bases once the game is over and players have exited the field.  Graham was too young last year, but we were able to let him do so this weekend.  He had a BLAST!  Mr. Bud’s cousin’s son is on the baseball team and she took the best pictures of him throughout the process!  (Thank you Gladys - and Geaux Alex!)

Getting ready to go...

Is it my turn yet?

On your marks, get set...

Almost to home base...

Can I do it again?

Geaux Tigers!

Until next time…
